I have always heard that Education is 10 years behind. When I read President Bill Clinton's 1996 vision for computing in schools I realized that we are just now beginning to do this. These are the Four (4) points in his vision:
1) Modern computers and learning devices available to all students,
2) Classrooms connected to one another and the outside world,
3) Making educational software an integral part of the curriculum and as engaging as the best video game,
4) Having teachers ready to use and teach with technology.
Questions: 1. Have we been successful implementing this plan? Why or Why not? 2. Are classrooms in your school connecting to one another and the outside world? If they are, when did this begin in your school? 3. Do you feel your teachers are ready to use and teach with technology? If your answer is no, how can we change that?
